The Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read independently, and take an independent comprehension test on the computer. Each book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level.
Million Word Readers
Did you know that if a child reads just 20 minutes a day,
it adds up to 1,800,000 words in a school year?
It also means that student will be recognized as a
Million Word Reader!
With the support of our PTSA, Snapper Creek Students participate in the STAR/Accelerated Reader Program!
This program helps teachers monitor their students' progress in reading.

SCE Book Fair
The Snapper Creek Book Fair serves as a fund raiser to help us purchase books and cover the cost of the Accelerated Reader Program.
With the help of the PTSA
we host 2 Book Fairs each school year.
